Amgen Tour of California
February 18th, 2007 by Bitch KittieAmgen Tour of California
Today starts the Amgen Tour of California, a fantastically exciting cycling event. I was privileged enough to attend the first week last year. What excitement, what thrill! Last year was the inaugural race with Floyd Landis taking the title home. This race was started with a goal to rival the Tour day France one day. More power to them! The Americans are doing well in the world of cycling . . . let’s give them a major stage race to win at home!
Last year, the stats were pretty exciting. There were over 1.3 million on the race course over the 600 mile event and the website had over 367,000 hits. Is this something to watch? Heck yes!
I’m going to give you the quick links to the info. . . .
Watch the race on Versus (formally OLN) with Phil and Paul
Check out the great website that is full of great information at www.amgentourofcalifornia.com
Here’s the course! Do you live in California? Go see it. I’m serious. It is amazing to watch.
If you can’t make it or don’t have cable, you can get the play by play right here.
Email me any ToC questions, comments, thoughts, reflections . . . I vow to get you some answers.
Peace Out,
bk

Are there any statistics/guesses/rumors as to whether the audience is the same or larger than last year, both in person and on TV?
